When you’re too old? When you can’t do the job? When you no longer care? When your decisions are questionable? When it’s no longer enjoyable? When your passion is gone? When nobody cares? When it costs too much? Sometimes it’s your choice, and sometimes it’s not.
When someone else can do it better, it is a good time to let them do it. We like to think that we’re irreplaceable and no one else can do it as well. We started because we knew we could do it better. The truth is we’re all temporary. There is always someone else who can do it better and ready to take over. When is it time to find a new job or position? Or, When is it time to retire? We all probably think about one or the other several times a month, usually on a Monday.
Some jobs have mandatory limits or qualifications that require licensing or proficiency. Some companies have quotas that must be met. And then there are those that have no limits...
Only two qualifications are required (a natural born citizen and 35 years of age) to be President of the United States. You don't have to have served in the Senate or have been a Governor. You don't even have to a high school diploma! You just have to be elected by the people, via the electoral college— represented by each state.
As of today, the two leading candidates might do well evaluated with some of the questions proposed earlier.
One (well, okay, both) might be a little old (81 and 77)? One is on trial in a criminal court and the other has trouble making sentences make sense. Both has trouble within their own party of total support.
It is unlikely that we will see a debate between the two, as one has trouble staying on topic and the other has trouble bullying.
Maybe it's time for someone else.
