Richard Mack “Rickey” Stringfellow,

born April 21, 1950 CalledhomeSunday morning June 9, 2024.

Most of his family and friends called him Rickey. He was Papaw to his grandchildren and Uncle Rickey to his nieces and nephews. Linda called him “Honey”.

Rickey was preceded in death by his Dad, Roger Mack (Edna) Stringfellow and his Mother, Doylene McWilliams; his sons Noel Bryce Stringfellow and Richard “Joel” Stringfellow; his brothers Ronnie Mack Stringfellow, Teddy Stringfellow and Brucie Stringfellow.

Rickey is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Linda Dunn Stringfellow, stepsons Dax Harper (Emily) Henderson and Brandon Glenn (Andrea) Lane; five grandsons Rex Harper (Molly) Henderson, Ty Hunter Henderson, Kyrin Dill, Emmett Mack Stringfellow and Braxton Bryce Stringfellow; two great-grandchildren Soraya Jean Archer and Nix Harper Henderson; sisters Sherry McElyea, Mitzi (William) Cantwell and brothers Wade (Trudy) Stringfellow, Mitchel Stringfellow and Philip (Sherry) Stringfellow; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

An avid sportsman, he taught his sons to love hunting and fishing. A expert marksman, Rickey would often “test” his gun to the demise of coyotes and any other objects in his line of site. He loved coon dogs, coon hunting and cats. Rickey was a great athlete who played “Iron Man” football for Hampton High School, and was a pitcher on his Little League baseball team. He loved basketball and soft ball.

Ricky was an accomplished cook and is famous for his baked beans. He loved to farm and raised purple hull peas and had a vegetable garden for many years.

Like his father and grandfather before him Rickey was a cement mason who took a lot of pride in his work. He did however, arrange his work schedule around the hunting seasons.

He was a great story teller who loved to talk! Rickey was a horse trader and just couldn’t pass up a good deal. He was a huge collector...of EVERYTHING!

Rickey loved to play the guitar and sing with his friends and family.

He served our country in the United States Air force.

Rickey was a kind and compassionate man who loved his family and his friends and most of all his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
