Julie Ann (Kordsmeier) Wilkes, 58, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at her home in Azle.

Funeral Service: 10am Thursday July 11, 2024, Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle.

Interment: Ash Creek Cemetery, Azle.

Julie was born October 8, 1965 in Houston; daughter of John and Phyllis (Lovell) Kordsmeier. She met the love of her life, Blake Wilkes, and they were married on January 2, 1988. They would go on to spend 36 happy years together. Over the years, God blessed them with two children Rachel and Rebekah. Julie loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. She had an affinity for music, and was a long-time member of the choir at Ash Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, and she also loved watching television, especially Gilmore Girls; this was also a love that she instilled in her daughters. While she had many interests

in life, her first love was her family. Her children and grandchildren were her gift from God, and the light of her life. She is preceded in death by her father, John Kordsmeier; and one brother, Michael Kordsmeier.

She is survived by her loving husband, Blake Wilkes; daughters, Rachel Steed (Jacob), and Rebekah Wilkes; grandchildren, Joanna Steed, Lyla Steed; mother, Phyllis Kordsmeier, of Hampton AR; she also leaves behind numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
