The local extension office has encouraged weekly 4-H sign up activities in the administration building. In February, we baked sugar cookies while introducing 4-H. The following week, we made banners explaining the 4-H emblem. The 4-H emblem is a fourleaf clover with an 'H' on each leaf. The letters in the emblem stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. This week, our young people made a greenhouse, and they plan to record their findings in their observation journal. Our final activity for February will be outdoor themed.
The mission of 4-H is to provide opportunities for youth to acquire knowledge, develop life skills, form attitudes, and practice behavior that will enable them to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.
