Hampton High School Class of 2023 Honor Graduates Announced

Thirty-eight seniors will participate in graduation exercises at Hampton High School on Friday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Amanda Moore, student council president, will give the welcome on behalf of the class. Shelby Pedigo, student council vice president, will give the invocation. Class valedictorian, Amanda Moore, and class salutatorian, Shelby Pedigo, will address the class. Principal Bryan Sanders, will recognize scholarship recipients, followed by the presentation of the class and the awarding of diplomas by Superintendent Doug Worley, of Hampton School District.

Amanda Moore, daughter of BJ and Katherine Moore, is the class valedictorian with a grade point average of 4.1250. While attending Hampton High School, she has been a member of the Gifted and Talented program, First Priority, Four Year Bulldog Scholar, Quiz Bowl, Robotics Team, EAST, FBLA, Women of Wisdom, Bulldog Buddies, and Yearbook. In her senior year, Amanda served as President of the following clubs: Student Council, Beta, FBLA, and Bulldog Buddies. She was also Vice-President of the senior class, Editor of the Yearbook, and Maid of Honor for the 2022 HHS Homecoming Court. Amanda attended Arkansas Governor’s School during the summer of 2022, Arkansas Girls State and she was one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class.

She plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and major in Computer Science.

Shelby Pedigo, daughter of Leslie Pedigo, is the class salutatorian with a grade point average of 3.9636. While attending Hampton High School, Shelby has participated in Women of Wisdom, Beta Club, Bulldog Scholar for four years, Future Farmers of America, Hampton FFA Livestock Show Team, Forestry Team, Gifted and Talented, and Bulldog Buddies. She serves as President of the Senior Class and Vice President of the student council. Shelby was also one of two seniors recognized by Governor Sarah Sanders on Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day for excellent academic achievement in the senior class.

She plans to attend Southern Arkansas University of Magnolia to major in Biochemistry to pursue her dream of becoming a medical examiner.

Lauren Pedigo, daughter of Leslie Pedigo, is ranked third with a grade point average of 3.9107. While attending Hampton High School, Lauren has been a member of the Women of Wisdom, Four Year Bulldog Scholar, Gifted and Talented, Beta Club, Future Farmers of America, Hampton FFA Livestock Show Team, Forestry Team, Bulldog Buddies, and was a senior maid on the 2022 HHS Homecoming Court and currently serves as Chapter President of the FFA. She attended Arkansas Girls State the summer before her senior year where she held the office of Girls State Land Commissioner and plans to return this summer to serve as a counselor.

She plans to attend Southern Arkansas University of Magnolia where she will major in social work with a minor in psychology.

Carlee Hannegan, daughter of Mike Hannegan and Jamie Hannegan, is ranked fourth with a grade point average of 3.9020. While attending Hampton High School, she has been a member of the Beta Club, Four Year Bulldog Scholar, Women of Wisdom, Bulldog Buddies, Future Farmers of America, Hampton Livestock Show Team, Hampton Forestry Team, and also served on the Yearbook Committee.

She plans to attend Arkansas State University at BeeBee and major in Animal Science.

Payton Scaife, son of Shannon Scaife, is ranked fifth with a grade point average of 3.8958. While attending Hampton High School, Payton has been a member of the Future Farmers of America, FBLA, Hampton Bulldog Football and Baseball Teams, and Bulldog Buddies. Payton is a three-year Bulldog Scholar and was nominated to attend the American Legion’s Arkansas Boys State as a delegate.

He plans to attend SAU-Tech in the fall and obtain a certification in welding and earn an associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance.

Kassidy Sanders, daughter of Kenny and Sandy Sanders, is ranked sixth with a grade point average of 3.8596. While attending Hampton High School, Kassidy has been a member of the FBLA, Art Club, Beta Club, four-year Bulldog Scholar, Robotics Team, and EAST. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and editor of the EASTdesigned website: Hampton School News. Kassidy has also completed SAU Tech’s Rocket High Program in Computer Engineering.

She plans to attend SAU-Tech and major in Computer Information Technology.

Myron Bradford, son of Shavon and Byron Bradford, ranks seventh with a grade point average of 3.8542. While attending Hampton High School, Myron has been a member of the Men of Knowledge, Gifted and Talented, four-year Bulldog Scholar, Hampton Bulldog Basketball and Football Teams, and attended Arkansas Boys State.

He plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and major in mechanical engineering.

Parker Ramos, son of Brian and Hallie Ramos, ranks eighth with a grade point average of 3.8462. While attending Hampton High School Parker has been a member of Gifted and Talented for eight years, BETA Club for four years, Bulldog Scholar for four years, Bulldog Football for three years, and Baseball Teams for four years. He was also a member of FFA and won several first-place highindividual awards in electricity.

He plans to attend SAU-Tech and take robotics and then transfer to SAU Magnolia to obtain a degree in Engineering Technology.

Madison McElyea, daughter of Billie Christi and Seth Word, Dayne and Mandie Stanley, is ranked ninth with a grade point average of 3.8333. Maddie was a member of FBLA for three years, was a cheerleader for two years, Bulldog Scholar for two years, was on the honor roll since the 1st grade, and a member of the Student Council for two years, and this year’s Senior Class Representative and Prom Queen.

Her plans after school are to attend cosmetology school.

Zykelius Johnson, son of Anthony and Tomika Johnson, is ranked tenth with a grade point average of 3.7917. While attending Hampton High School, Zy was a member of the Bulldog football and basketball teams, Men of Knowledge, Beta, Four-year Bulldog Scholar, and the Robotics team. He also attended Arkansas Boys State.

He plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas and pursue a degree in Industrial Engineering and further his football career.

Chesney Reynolds, daughter of Kevin and Jeanna Marie Reynolds, ranks eleventh with a grade point average of 3.5652. While attending Hampton High School, she was a member of Beta, Bulldog Buddies, FBLA, EAST, a four-year Bulldog Scholar, and Women of Wisdom. Chesney played for the Lady Bulldogs Softball Team and was a bulldog Cheerleader. She was also the 2022 Homecoming Queen.

She plans to attend South Arkansas College where she will serve as a Student Ambassador and pursue a degree in Radiologic Technology.

Ki’Eysha Sa’Marion Thomas, daughter of Marion and Lakisha Thomas, ranks twelfth with a grade point average of 3.5385. While attending Hampton High School, she was a member of the Lady Bulldogs Basketball, Tennis, and Softball Teams, a Bulldog Cheerleader, FBLA, Beta Club, and Bulldog Buddies. She was also on the 2022 Homecoming Court and an All-American Cheerleader for the 2022-2023 school year.

She plans to attend Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia and obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then become an APRN.

Lily Floss, daughter of Stephanie Madera, ranks thirteenth with a grade point average of 3.5000. While attending Hampton High School, she was a member of Bulldog Buddies, Beta, Women of Wisdom, and FBLA. She also played Tennis, Softball, and was a Bulldog Cheerleader.

She plans to attend Southern Arkansas University of Magnolia and pursue a degree in Animal Science with a concentration in pre-vet.
