103 of Hampton died Tuesday May 9, 2023 at his home. Born March 27, 1920, he was a son of the late C.W. Ables and Nancy Avant Ables.

Tilman Ables, 103 of Hampton died Tuesday May 9, 2023 at his home. Born March 27, 1920, he was a son of the late C.W. Ables and Nancy Avant Ables.

He was retired from Calion Lumber Company, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and going to the Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Richardson Ables; daughter, Jenarie Ables; four brothers; one sister; one grandson and one great-grandson.

He is survived by one son, Richard (Lyn) Ables of Lucas, TX; daughters Marion Stokes of Hampton and Melenna (Arel) Simpson of Vicksburg, MS; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Duncan and Rev. Rickey Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pickett Cemetery.
