age 91 of Hampton died Monday July 31, 2023 at Ouachita County Medical Center. He was born October 29, 1931. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He retired from Ouachita Electric after 34 years of service.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Edna Duncan; his wife of 63 years, Hattie Newton Duncan; six brothers, Lamar (Fayrene), Eugene (Nellie Rae), Ray (Christine), Lucian (Jeanette), Paul, Billy Max (Camille). He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Hendrix (Donnie); four sons, David Duncan (Terri), Randy Duncan (Becky), Robbie Duncan (Ronnda), Ronnie Duncan (Kim), all of Hampton; brotherin- law, Homer Newton (Betty) of El Dorado; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He served in the army during the Korean War, and started Duncan Hunting Club with his dad in 1954. He was on the first Hampton Volunteer Fire Department, and helped start the Hampton Little League where he coached for years. He was involved with Hogskin Holidays from the start, served on the Farm Bureau Board and the Calhoun County Fair Board.
He loved the outdoors, and was known to be a good basketball player back in the day. He was dedicated to Faith, Family, Work, and Community.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Victory Baptist Church with Bro. Robbie Duncan and Bro. Russ Hopper officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Hampton/Fordyce.
