The day began with the administrators; Elementary Principal Tom Sawyer, High School Principal Bryan Sanders and newly hired Superintendent Matt Scarbrough serving breakfast to the everyone. Mr. Scarbrough said 'The first day back for teachers is always full of energy and everyone is so happy to see each other after the summer break'.

The agenda for the meeting included such items as, introduction of new staff, procedures for the new school year, an evaluation of current state of the school district, and activities directed toward gaining a clear set of goals and a vision for the direction of the school year.

'This is a great school and I am excited to work with such a great group of people. This faculty really cares about the school, students, families, and the community. When we all get on the same page and we are all moving in the same direction there is no limit to what we can accomplish here' said Matt Scarbrough.

Mr. Scarbrough spoke to the staff in length about the importance of everyone working toward the same goals. The staff seemed energized and responded with enthusiasm to the training.

Everyone in the district would like to thank 1st State Bank for feeding them lunch on the first day and to thank all the donors who provided door prizes to the teachers.
