Bear Give Away for Children

Hampton/Faustina United Methodist Churches presented over 50 Cuddly Teddy Bears on November 14, 2023 to the Law Enforcement and Ambulances in Calhoun County. Each agency, Hampton City Police, Calhoun County Sheriff’s office, Arkansas State Troopers, Arkansas Highway Police and Pro-Med Ambulance Service were presented 10 bears each for children they encounter to give them comfort.

Hampton/Faustina United Methodist Churches presented over 50 Cuddly Teddy Bears on November 14, 2023 to the Law Enforcement and Ambulances in Calhoun County. Each agency, Hampton City Police, Calhoun County Sheriff’s office, Arkansas State Troopers, Arkansas Highway Police and Pro-Med Ambulance Service were presented 10 bears each for children they encounter to give them comfort.

Prayer Shawl Ministries collected the bears this year with Sue Dunn heading up the project. Rev. Gary Sneed is the pastor for both churches and a member of the group. The group also made 24 homemade Bunnies for CASA kits that included other items that serve those children. Janette Goolsby leads the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Representatives on hand for the distribution and pictures were:

• Colby Gilbert – Arkansas Highway Police (a member of HUMC) TreVaughan Moore- Arkansas State Trooper (a member of HUMC) and James Reed

• Sheriff Vernon Morris – Calhoun County Sheriff

• Hampton Police Chief – Joe Jones

• Pro Med Ambulance – Ken Kelley, Tommy Rich, & Dona Stealman Sue Dunn-member Faustina United Methodist Church and leader of the Bear Project

• Rev. Gary Sneed-pastor Hampton/ Faustina United Methodist Churches
