Mrs. Ann Strickland

Mrs. Ann Strickland

Mrs. Ann Strickland

was born on December 20, 1945. She grew up in Hampton, AR just across the highway from the young man she would share her entire life with. She married Harold Strickland on September 11, 1965. They lived out their vows of love in sickness and health until death parted them with her passing on April 10, 2024.

In their 58 years of marriage, they created a loving family. Ann is survived by her husband Harold and their children Deidre (Rick) Douglas of Paragould, Tanya (John) Rhodes of Dayton, OH, Steven Strickland of Paragould, and Heather (Stephen) Eaton of Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by their infant son Matthew. She leaves a legacy of love with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Ann was a hard worker with unwavering determination. She attended Draughons School of Business in Little Rock. She was a dedicated employee at Roger’s Animal Clinic and Veterinary Healthcare Clinic, where she eventually retired after 40 long years of work.

She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. She faithfully served the congregation at First Presbyterian Church in Paragould, by organizing events and passionately playing the piano for as long as she was able to. She loved to work in multiple ministries within the church, but one of her favorites was decorating the tables for luncheons.

Ann was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved playing card games with her family and played frequently with her Bridge Club.

She lived a life filled with love for her family, friends, and animals. One of her last requests was to be sure and care for her cats…Leo and Oscar. Ann faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease with grace, courage, and resilience. What the disease may have taken from her, pales in comparison to the fullness of joy in which she lived her life.

The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday April 15 at Means Cemetery near Hampton, AR. A memorial service will be held on May 4th in Paragould, AR at First Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. Please come celebrate Ann’s life wearing the brightest colors.
