Thelma Estelle Thigpen,
Thelma was born on February 12, 1935 in Harrell, AR., the daughter of Jolly Clark and Media Josephine (Rhinehart) Thompson. She was employed by Kmart for 17 years before retiring in 1998. Thelma has been a dedicated and faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God (TAG Church) for 45 years.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy Thigpen Jr., and her sister, Julia Ann Reddin.
Thelma is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Susan) Thigpen of Conway, and Debbie (Robert) Lundy of North Little Rock, her grandsons, Zachary (Madison) Thigpen of Little Rock and Andy Lundy of North Little Rock; her two great-grandchildren Farrah Daniel and Jason Thigpen of Little Rock; her bonus grandchildren, Nick Soderquist (Fiance Jojo Kalva) of Conway, Lily Mora of Olympia, WA., William Clinton and Marshall Clinton of North Little Rock; Thelma’s sister, Margie Sue Williams of Cedar Point, KS; her nephew, Gary (Terry) Williams and niece, Gayla (Will) Soyez both of Goddard, KS; and the many nieces, nephews and cousins of the extended family.
Her family would like to extend a very special thank you to her niece, Diane Alford, for each day she came to hospital to sit by her aunt’s side and for providing comfort and support to the family; and to the staff of doctors, nurses and aids of the AR Heart Hospital who took exceptional care of Thelma during her time at the hospital and provided kindness and compassion to the family.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at Trinity Assembly of God on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
