Carolyn Smith Rawls,

age 93 of Crossett, AR passed away from this life to life eternal on September, 26, 2024 leaving a legacy of love for her church, family and special friends. Born on December 10, 1930 to Carroll and Pauline Sinclair Smith, Carolyn grew up in Jersey, AR where as a child she gained the nickname “Muff”. She attended school in Hermitage, AR. She and Gene Rawls were married in 1948 and made their home in Crossett where Carolyn was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class.

Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Paula Rawls of Little Rock, AR, a son and daughter in law, James and Fonda Rawls of Hampton, AR, sister-in-law Jo Ann Rawls of Warren, AR, nieces Pam Ragar of Louisville, KY and Lori Wigley of Monticello, AR.

Preceding Carolyn in death are her husband, Gene Rawls, parents Carroll and Pauline Smith, and a brother-in-law, Grady Rawls.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Ashley County Medical Center and the caregivers Tunja Coleman, Tina Zollman and Edna Hampton for the outstanding and passionate care.

Chapel services were 2:00PM Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery at Jersey by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
