Hampton High Graduation

Hampton High School program recognized for dynamic and engaging yearbook.

The first jury trial in Calhoun County since 2015 ended in acquittal. The trial went three days. Jury selection took all day Wednesday. Thursday and Friday morning the case was presented. Friday afternoon was closing statements and charge to the jury.

Jessica Brooke Floss received her Master of Science in Mass Communications Degree at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Forty-two seniors will participate in graduation exercises at Hampton High School on Friday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Class Valedictorian, Shakara Miles, and class Salutatorians, Tianna Moore and Alaina Welch, will address the class. Mr. Bryan Sanders, Principal, will recognize scholarship recipients, followed by the presentation of the class and the awarding of diplomas by Mr. Matt Scarbrough, Superintendent of Hampton Schools.

William Shannon Evins was born June 30, 1844, in Tennessee, the son of Captain John H. Evins 18181904 and Martha “Mary” J. Shannon 1818-1884. Both of his parents were born in Tennessee. Known siblings were Tennessee E. Evins, born after they moved to Mississippi, John W. Evins, Josephine Evins Douglass, and Mary Theodocia “Dosia” Evins Farrell, 6 months. The last three were born after moving to Arkansas.

Sounding The CALL for National Foster Care Awareness Month

After the storm in January, Tracey Bemis noticed the tree had been destroyed. Bemis Tree Farm decided to donate a replacement and contacted Judge Flyod Nutt.

LITTLE ROCK, AR (04/30/2024)-- More than 565 of the state’s brightest young men will attend Arkansas Boys State, an immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion. This summer’s 83rd annual session runs May 26 through May 31 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

The School Board started early (5:30 p.m.) in an attempt to handle executive meetings items with out having the public wait during the regular time. They will go back to the regular schedule next meeting.
