Diane McKinnie, 71, died March 21, 2023. She was born July 19, 1951, in Little Rock, AR to Dr. Tom L. and Lib Dunn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Dunn; a grandson, Wyatt Earnest and a nephew, Joel Stringfellow.

Martha Jane “Jennie” Strong was born in Sumpter District, South Carolina, on December 6, 1838, to Elijah Frink Strong (18041860) and Sarah Eleanor Barrineau Strong (18101850). Jennie’s father, Judge Elijah Strong, was a farmer and a judge born in Connecticut who moved to South Carolina where Jennie’s mother had been born. Sarah belonged to the Huguenot family with the name of Barrineau. Sarah’s father was Isaac Barrineau. Elijah and his family moved to Ouachita County about 1846 when Jennie was eight. He was living in Champagnolle Township, Ouachita County, in 1850, with nine children. This area later became Calhoun County.

age 78, of Harrell, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born March 11, 1944 in Harrell, Arkansas to Charles and Rae Harrell. She was a graduate of Hampton Public Schools, and the University of Arkansas at Monticello. She was a member of Harrell United Methodist Church.

79, of Kingsland, Arkansas died Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the Dallas County Medical Center, in Fordyce, Arkansas. Gene was born November 1, 1943, in Kingsland, the eldest son of the late Louis Lamar (Luke) Franklin and Annie (Kathryn) Dykes Franklin.

age 80 of Hampton died Friday at Silver Oaks Nursing Home in Camden, Arkansas. She was born March 29, 1942 in Alberta, Canada. She was a member of Hampton First Assembly of God Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Borst and Florence McCune Borst Cromoga; one son, Tracy Williams; and one sister, Arlene Ellis. She is survived by her husband, Hershel Williams of Hampton; three sons, Allen (Elsa) Williams of San Diego, CA, Randy (Kim) Williams of Hampton, Garth (Kelly) Williams of Jacksonville; two sisters, Louise Geary of Arlington, WA, Jewel Heske of Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

age 92 of Hampton died Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Timberlane Nursing Home in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was born July 18, 1930 in Calhoun County, Arkansas. She was the retired recorder and treasurer for the City of Hampton and she was a member of Camp Ground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Scott; her brother, Bubba Scott; her uncle, Dennis Haynes; and her grandparents, Troy and Emma “Sook” Haynes, Johnny Mack Ellis, and Earl and Dean Scott.
