Hampton Senior High boys basketball participated in a summer basketball camp at El Dorado High School. Hampton defeated Nevada County and Junction City. After having only four practices since Hampton hired Coach Brandon Jones, the Bulldogs show promise in their upcoming season. Coach Jones states, ’I was impressed with the way we shot the ball around the perimeter. I anticipate a successful season with tough in your face defense and a fast paced transition offense.’

97, passed from this life to his eternal home on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was born in a little place he called “Ignorant Bend” (now renamed Harmony) in Bradley County to the late Luther Burdette Nichols and Ida Hayes Nichols. He spent much time during his childhood with his grandparents, Will and Jenny Hayes, with whom he learned about hard work and music. He went to school in “the bend” up until the 8th grade and then went on to further his education at Warren High School.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Ray “Buddy” Tomlinson; her daughter, Judy Lynn Tomlinson; her son, Steven Ray Tomlinson; and her son-in-law, Danny Moudy.

HHS Waxes Over Time Constraints

With the upcoming year starting sooner than usual, Hampton Schools were concerned with what little time they had to finish all of their normal summer upkeeps. Summer time for Hampton’s custodial crew usually consists of lots of mopping, waiting, and waxing. This task on average takes up to 6 weeks of hard labor. However, Hampton School District was able to purchase a machine to do it in half the time.
