The first jury trial in Calhoun County since 2015 ended in acquittal. The trial went three days. Jury selection took all day Wednesday. Thursday and Friday morning the case was presented. Friday afternoon was closing statements and charge to the jury.

57 of El Dorado, died Friday, May 10, 2024. He was born January 12, 1967 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Ed Clemons and Jackie Greco Strahan. He is preceded in death by his step-mother Juanez Clemons, his nephew Aaron Clemons, and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Clemons and Jake and Marilyn Stokes.

age 73 of Hampton, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2024. He was born December 7, 1950 to the late Cecil William and Eula Mae Martin Nowlin.

Forty-two seniors will participate in graduation exercises at Hampton High School on Friday, May 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Class Valedictorian, Shakara Miles, and class Salutatorians, Tianna Moore and Alaina Welch, will address the class. Mr. Bryan Sanders, Principal, will recognize scholarship recipients, followed by the presentation of the class and the awarding of diplomas by Mr. Matt Scarbrough, Superintendent of Hampton Schools.
